Holidays in other contries

In those sites they use English because is a international language that helps people from all around the world to understand each others. In my opinion, that is way people from those sites share their traditions, recipes and even their personals experiences with everybody.
"Una blanca navidad" is written by a Peruvian boy that shared the Christmas tradition in Peru. He says what this holiday really means in his country and his familiars experience. He even shared a recipe at the end of his article.
The site that shared the characteristics of Thai new years showed how this fun holiday take place  It is fun because the play with water and really enjoy this celebration is something that keep the family reunited. In the site there are also pictures and videos that illustrate this tradition. There is also shared that this celebration is three days long because there are several this that thy do such as clean the house and themselves, thy should visit the temple too and of course the food is also a important aspect of the celebration.
The web page that inform about the Indian Holi festival  shows how this colorful celebration take place, its purpose is to celebrate the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The celebration is in may, a good time to the markets. The people throw each others colors. This holiday is celebrating with friend and family and people have a lot of fun.
The Guatemalan “Alfombras:” Street Decorations for Holy Week. Are carpet made in the streets whit a lot of elements. This  article shows how Guatemalans have a lot of imagination. Those decorations are made to celebrate the holy week which means that subject for the carpet is Christianity.

My own personal culture

I think my personal culture is shaped by music and books. I'm not really the kind of person that practice sports, it don't even enjoy watching sport games or anything that involves sports, except for the extremes sport. I hope that some day I will go skydiving or something like that. Right now I really love to spend time by myself reading or listen to good music. I'm one of those "fangirl" that really get involve in fantastic books such as the hunger games twilight harry pother and many others. Due to that i'm a dreamer and I do believe in happy endings. An other thing that defines my personal culture is music, I can't spend a whole day without listen music. Felling identified with the lyrics, changing your moody with a single song or just dancing are one of the most amazing experience in live.

Economic Empowerment for Women

I will give the money to lanca Isvelia because i like she had a business with a lot of demand in the cost, due to that i think that she can be very successful following her dream. http://www.kiva.org/lend/512269#aboutTheCountry It is a minimum lend that can chance a life! I choice her because i think that she is starting now with her little business and I would like to see her grow. I also like her big smile, she seems to be a very kind person :)

Kenyan Matatu Drivers

1)In the BBC documentary Matatu drivers where treated with no discrimination, as equals humans, as they are. The documentary was about the Kenya culture, because of that the BBC people were obligate to film the Matatu drivers. The also contacted Wambururu a famous Matatu driver to give the a trip. Unfortunately some Kenyans have a different opinion and think that the people who film them are always mocking them.

2)I think that they are discriminated in very similar ways. For example in the way that they are treated by the police. The cops just accuse them to break the law just because they are Matatu drivers or Mototaxistas. Most people think that they are thieves and disrespectful persons. In my case i used to think that due to the fact that in the south on the city you can see a lot of motorcycles violating traffic laws or with a lot of people on board. Also most of thieves are motocicle drivers. I think that a similar situation happen in Kenya. But that's not okay! we need to to stop those stereotypes and star giving people opportunities to success.

Afrocolombians discrimination

The video shows that most of the AfroLatinos are poor. In Comlombia 46% are unemployed, only two in every hundred people are unemployed, the illiteracy rate and the mortality rate are 3 times higher than the habitual. This statistics are alarming! Even when there are institutions working for this communities those number show how the racism still exist in the XXI century!! Every single person in the world have to be conscious than we all are equal. At the end of the video appear a mail where you can report cases of racism.

Tinariwen

From this video --------->

I learn that the Tuareg culture are very strict in their own way to make tea! JK!. I think this whole ritual have a deeper meaning. I see that is important to they to keep equality and harmony. Also they are in touch with the earth. I think that for them is very important to watch out what they eat and drink. The tea seems to be a very spiritual drink to them. Another thing that I can see from the video is that they stay together to enjoy their music. The lyrics talk about pain, it seems like a very hurt culture to me and they are trying to calm this pain with tea. They need freedom their are under a "lion" domination and they are dreaming and trying to run away. They think they're better finding peace than the lion. They are surviving.
